Meryl,

I'm so glad you wrote! I LOVE the idea of Mommy Daddy Camp. It reminds me of a time when I first moved to Seattle. I teamed up with another new resident. We'd take $20 each and go to Pike Place Market. Together, we'd buy anything we've never had before...noshing on Hum Bow, kumquats, and charcuterie. It was a fantastic time.

I'm also reminded of trips friends of mine & I would do in the International District on a progressive food tour. We'd pick a restaurant, let them pick the top 2 dishes, enjoy and then move on to the next restaurant. I had visions of hitting 4-5 restos in a day, but we never made it past 3. But it was great introduction to restaurants I maybe would have never tried.

Enjoy! Sounds like you've got a fabulous wrap up to summer ahead!

Traca

I just found your blog. I guess I followed a lucky link--I don't even remember what I was looking for. I'm especially enjoying all of the ideas of things to do in Seattle. I've lived here for ages.

But at the end of the summer, the last week before my son goes back to school, he gets a week of "Mommy Daddy Camp" where we compile a list of fun activities around Seattle and then we are on the go all week. For example, last year we included the "Search for the Best Donut in Town," The Underground Tour, blueberry picking, ethnic food we've never eaten before, boating on Greenlake and ice cream samplings. I'm getting some great ideas for next weeks' camp activities on your blog. I work next door to Bakery Nouveau so our paths have probably crossed.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Meryl
